WEB SEARCH TIPS

Use google.com . "Search Google in English" when searching for English sites

When you are looking for a phrase, not key words:
1. Use quotes (" ")

(Search "Ferris University". Not Ferris University, which includes more pages about Ferris State University, in America)

In long articles, where you can't quickly find your searched words:
1. Press "Ctrl" key and the "F" key at the same time, and then type a key word.
2. In the Google search results, choose the "Cached Page" - your search words will be highlighted.

If you get too many results:
1. Be more specific and type more key words

If there are too few results:
1. Be less specific (use fewer key words)
2. Check the spelling!

When you want to search only specific site:
1. Type "site:(site address)" before your keyword
2. Go to Advanced Search & type in the site in the "domain" space.

When searching for a word (Yokohama), but most the search results are
the wrong one (e.g. Yokohama Tires, not Yokohama-City):
1. Use "-" key & type the word you don't want to search (e.g. tires)
2. Go to Advanced Search & type in the word you don't want in the "without the words" space
